Sprout Rental Agreement

Please read this agreement carefully. By clicking “I agree”, placing an order with Sprout, or by accepting a delivery from Sprout, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the terms outlined within this contract.

1. Rentals

1.1 Definition of Rental Product: A rental product from Sprout is any baby or kids gear item that we offer for temporary use, ranging from strollers to bassinets, and beyond.

1.2 Rental Arrangement: When you place an order with Sprout, you’re agreeing to a temporary rental arrangement for the gear you’ve selected. This means you’ll use the item for the agreed rental period and return it in good condition when you’re done.

1.3 Right to Refuse: Sprout reserves the right to reject any rental request or cancel orders at any stage, at our sole discretion.

2. Rental Items

2.1 Condition of Rental Products: All our rental products are typically pre-used. While they’re thoroughly cleaned and inspected before delivery, signs of prior use are to be expected and cannot be grounds for rejection.

2.2 Ownership: All rental items remain the exclusive property of Sprout. You are only renting them; you do not acquire ownership or any rights to the items.

2.3 Assembly: Some products may require minor assembly upon delivery. Please refer to and follow all Manufacturer Instructions for assembly. For any questions, contact the manufacturer directly.

2.4 Defects and Issues: We meticulously inspect our items before delivery, but some defects may be undetectable. If a product becomes defective during the rental period, cease use immediately and contact Sprout. If the defect isn’t due to misuse, we’ll replace it with the same or a similar product. All decisions regarding defects and replacements are at Sprout’s sole discretion.

2.5 Product Substitutions:
While we make every effort to fulfill your order exactly as requested, Sprout reserves the right to substitute any rental item with a similar product of equal or greater quality, function, and value. Substitutions may include different brands, styles, or colors, but will not affect the core purpose or functionality of the item.

3. Usage Restrictions

3.1 Responsibility: You are fully responsible for any use of the rental products during the rental term, whether by you or any third party.

3.2 Proper Use: Products must be used carefully, safely, and for their intended purpose, adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and manufacturer guidelines. Smoking, candles, incense, or heavy scents/perfumes are not permitted near any rental products.

3.3 Prohibited actions: Do not alter, disassemble, repair, or modify the rental products. They must not be used for any unauthorized purpose, and no labels or warnings should be removed. Products must stay within Sprout’s service area.

4. Delivery

4.1 Delivery Process: Rental products will be delivered to the address specified in your order. Please ensure someone is present to receive the delivery. You may need to show a photo ID matching the name on the order. If you’re not present, our delivery personnel may leave the items at the address at their discretion. Upon delivery, you assume all risk, including loss.

4.2 Rescheduling: You can reschedule delivery or pick-up anytime before 24 hours of the scheduled window. Failure to be present or last-minute changes may result in cancellation fees, which you authorize Sprout to charge to your payment method.

4.3 Item pickup: All items must be returned at the end of the rental period. Return them to Sprout personnel during a scheduled pick-up or request a pick-up through our system with five days’ notice. Items are not considered returned until in Sprout’s possession, and you are liable for any fees until then. Unreturned items will incur a $20/day/item fee.

5. Rental Fees

5.1 Payment authorization: To rent, you must provide a valid credit card or other acceptable payment method. By providing this information, you authorize Sprout to charge rental fees and any other applicable charges.

5.2 Fee structure: You agree to pay all rental, delivery, insurance, late, damage, replacement, and/or restocking fees associated with your order. These charges are non-refundable, and we do not offer refunds for partial rental terms. Unreturned items will incur a $20/day/item fee.

5.3 Damage and loss: Normal wear and tear and minor accessory loss are expected. However, you are responsible for significant damages or loss. You may be charged up to 50% of the retail price for such items, as determined by Sprout’s sole discretion.

6. Cancellation

6.1 Cancellation policy: You can cancel your rental at any time, but rental charges will continue until the product is returned to Sprout or compensation for lost/damaged items is paid.

7. Liability

7.1 No guarantees: Sprout does not guarantee the reliability, suitability, or safety of any rental products. Use is at your own risk.

7.2 Assumption of risk: You are responsible for assessing the product’s suitability and assume all risks associated with its use. Sprout is not liable for any installation, assembly, or safety issues.

7.3 Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Sprout and its affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or costs arising from your violation of this Agreement, laws, or manufacturer instructions, or from your use of the products.

Sprout Box Terms & Conditions

By subscribing to Sprout Box, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms are designed to ensure a smooth experience for you and protect Sprout Baby Gear (“Sprout”) and its property.

2. Rental Agreement

All items provided through Sprout Box are rented, not sold. Sprout retains full ownership of all toys, books, and materials included in each box.

You, the subscriber, are granted the right to use the items for personal, non-commercial purposes for the duration of your subscription term. At the end of your rental period, all items must be returned in full and in reasonable condition.

2. Rental Duration & Subscription

Sprout Box subscriptions are available in flexible terms, which may include one-month, three-month, six-month, or annual plans. By subscribing, you agree to commit to your selected term.

Your rental begins on the second Friday of the month, which is the designated delivery date. Sprout Boxes are delivered and picked up on this day each month.

If your subscription continues, a new box will be delivered and the previous one picked up on the same day (the second Friday of the following month). You must ensure that all items from the previous box are clean, repacked, and ready for pickup at the designated location by 9:00 AM on pickup day.

3. Delivery & Pickup

Sprout Box currently serves customers within the Nanaimo area. Delivery and pickup are included in your subscription and will occur on the second Friday of each month. If you purchase your Sprout Box subscription 7 days or less from the next delivery date, you’ll receive your first Sprout Box the following month.

You are responsible for providing accurate delivery instructions, including any access codes, gate instructions, or specific drop-off/pickup locations (e.g. “back porch” or “inside the side gate”).

Sprout is not liable for delays or missed deliveries resulting from incorrect or incomplete delivery information.

4. Care & Use of Items

We ask that you treat Sprout Box items with care and supervise children during play. All items must be returned in clean and good condition, accounting for reasonable wear and tear.

Do not submerge electronic toys or wooden items in water. Cleaning instructions will be provided, and you agree to follow them to prevent damage.

If any items are significantly damaged, lost, or returned in a condition beyond reasonable wear, you may be charged a replacement fee.

5. Late or Missing Returns

Sprout Boxes must be returned on the scheduled pickup date. If your box is not available for pickup or items are missing, Sprout will reach out to coordinate an alternative return.

Repeated missed pickups or unreturned items may result in suspension of your subscription and/or additional charges.

6. Subscription Cancellations

Monthly subscribers may cancel at any time before the next billing cycle. Cancellations after the billing date will take effect the following month.

Multi-month or annual subscriptions are non-refundable but may be paused under certain circumstances. Contact us to discuss options.

7. Safety & Liability

Sprout carefully selects age-appropriate, developmentally supportive toys and inspects each item for damage and cleanliness. However, by subscribing, you acknowledge that:

  • You are solely responsible for supervising your child’s use of all items.

  • Sprout is not liable for injuries, allergic reactions, or accidents arising from the use or misuse of any items.

  • Sprout does not guarantee suitability for all children.

Please inspect your box upon delivery and notify us immediately of any concerns.

8. Changes to Terms

Sprout reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes in writing (via email or website notice).
